About The Position

An HH Centralized Intake Specialist collects, verifies, and enters patient information in order for services to be provided.

Requirements

  • Proficient in verbal, written, and computer skills
  • Excellent communication, organization, and follow-up skills
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work independently
  • A minimum of 1-year of intake/insurance experience is required
  • Regularly required to walk, sit, stand, bend, reach, lift, and move about
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • To perform other duties as required

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of home health/hospice operations preferred
  • Experience in insurance verification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Verify eligibility and benefits via phone and online portals for a variety of insurances and Medicare
  • Complete intake of new patient admissions in EHR software and schedule initial care visits
  • Obtain authorization for services prior to admission
  • Contact patients prior to admission to obtain and verify information and notify patient of financial responsibility, if applicable
  • Effectively and timely correspond with agency staff
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with agency staff and co- workers
  • Support culture by promoting “Friendly, Positive, and Focused on Excellence"
  • All other duties as assigned
