The Home Health & Hospice Billing Specialist is responsible for managing billing and revenue cycle activities for home health and hospice services. This role ensures accurate and timely claim submission, follows up on outstanding accounts, resolves billing issues, and supports reimbursement and compliance requirements. Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • Minimum of 2 years of home health and/or hospice billing experience required.
  • Experience with Home Care Home Base (HCHB), Waystar, DDE, or similar billing platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance billing.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Submit and manage Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance claims using HCHB and Waystar.
  • Review, track, and resolve denied, rejected, and outstanding claims.
  • Monitor aging accounts receivable and follow up on overdue balances.
  • Collaborate with Intake, Authorization, Clinical, and Operations teams to ensure billing accuracy.
  • Respond to billing inquiries and assist in resolving discrepancies.
  • Participate in AR and billing review meetings and assist with audits and reporting.
  • Maintain compliance with PDGM guidelines and payer-specific billing requirements.
  • Perform additional billing and revenue cycle duties as assigned.
