About The Position

Here at Franklin County Medical Center, we have a vision: be the premier healthcare provider and facility of choice for the community. A non-profit critical access hospital, we house 20 beds in our acute care facility and 35 beds in our nursing facility. FCMC was recognized as one of the “Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals” in the nation for four consecutive years from 2017-2020. Requirements

  • Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant in the State of Idaho
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral, in the English language
  • Must have a cell phone, valid driver’s license, and access to an automobile in good working condition
  • Must be able to multi-task and work cooperatively with individuals and teams
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Regularly required to stand; walk and sit; operate a computer; operate a motor vehicle; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or twist
  • Occasionally required to push or pull up to 70 pounds
  • Frequently able to lift or carry up to 25 pounds
  • Must submit to COVID-19 testing as required by CMS and other regulatory agencies according to FCMC policy
  • Have full COVID-19 vaccination (some exemptions allowed)

Responsibilities

  • Reminding the patient to take medication
  • Performing simple diagnostic activities including taking vital signs, checking temperature, and monitoring blood sugar
  • Assisting with hygiene, such as tooth or dental care, bathing, shaving, and hair care
  • Performing active and passive range of motion exercises with the patient
  • Ensuring proper nutrition of the patient by instructing basic principles of good nutrition, observing and recording food and fluid intake, positioning the patient for meals, feeding as needed, and encouraging self-feeding
  • Assisting the patient with light housekeeping and other duties, such as doing laundry, bed changing, bed making, and cleaning
