About The Position

We're hiring compassionate, dependable Home Health Aides (HHA) for ongoing care positions providing essential in-home support to our clients. This role is ideal for caregivers who are passionate about helping others maintain their comfort, dignity, and independence at home while building meaningful connections with the people they care for. Caregivers in this role will assist clients with ADL's, mobility, meal prep, and light housekeeping, as well as companionship and assistance with everyday activities to maintain a safe and comfortable home environment. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum one (1) year of documented home care assistance and/or direct care experience at an assisted living or skilled nursing facility, etc., is preferred
  • Successful completion of a nursing assistant or certified home health aide program
  • Certified CPR and negative TB skin test or chest x-ray
  • Must have a valid driver's license and auto insurance (proof of insurance is required)
  • Must be able to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push, and pull. Varied assistance is required depending on the mobility of the client.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision
  • Ability to adhere to HIPAA and ensure confidentiality and security of the client's medical information
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English and communicate effectively
  • Up-to-date vaccinations including COVID-19, Influenza, and Hepatitis B

Responsibilities

  • Complete assistance with all Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
  • Incontinent of urine; wears Depends
  • Continent of stool but prefers using a bedpan in bed and does not like using the bathroom
  • Wife is wheelchair-dependent due to rheumatoid arthritis and a partial left foot amputation
  • Sacral wound and foot wound present; wound care will be managed by hospice
  • Medication reminders required
  • Light housekeeping assistance needed
  • Laundry assistance needed
  • Meal preparation required
  • Provide client-facing care as assigned
  • Primarily personal care (showering) and ambulation/transferring support. She is weak and unstable, currently getting PT. Aides can help with exercise
  • Provide assistance with daily tasks as directed in the client's personalized plan of care, including but not limited to: feeding, meal preparation, linen changes, light housekeeping, providing transportation to doctor appointments, outdoor activities, and shopping
  • Provide companionship, personal and hygiene care as directed in the client's personalized plan of care, including but not limited to: bathing, grooming, oral care, dressing, undressing, toileting activities, and assisting with measurements, if necessary
  • Assist clients with active and passive mobility work defined by the plan of care, and document observed changes to the Director of Nursing
  • Adhere to the policies, procedures, and protocols of the agency of employment
  • Adhere to HIPAA laws and ensure confidentiality and security of the client's medical information
