About The Position

Haven Home Care is hiring Home Health Aides in Stark and Summit County, Ohio. The start time varies based on your background, ranging from 1-3 days for licensed STNAs to 1-2 weeks for those new to caregiving who will receive free training. The job involves assisting clients, primarily older adults, with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, meal preparation, light cleaning, errands, and companionship. This is a physical role requiring you to be on your feet and assist clients with mobility. You will not be administering medication or performing medical tasks. The company emphasizes matching aides with clients based on preferences and limits, with more flexibility leading to a faster start and more hours. Most clients are in the Akron area (Summit County), with growing opportunities in Stark County. Aides typically have 2-4 regular clients per week, with opportunities to pick up extra fill-in shifts. Requirements

  • Driver's license
  • Own car with insurance that covers work driving
  • Pass background checks
  • Work at least 20 hours/week
  • Available between 6AM-8PM (most work is 8AM-5PM)
  • Legal right to work in the US
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • STNA license (active or expired) OR HHA certificate (30+ hours, signed by RN unless online) OR 1+ year of experience working under an RN or LPN at specific types of facilities (nursing homes, hospitals, Medicare-certified home health agencies, assisted living with licensed nurses).

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, getting dressed, and meal preparation.
  • Perform light cleaning and run errands for clients.
  • Provide companionship to clients.
  • Assist clients with moving around.
  • Follow company policies and client care plans.
  • Report incidents within 24 hours.
  • Answer office calls and texts quickly.
  • Send updated documents when requested (insurance, license, training).
  • Complete feedback forms when sent.
  • Maintain perfect attendance and punctuality.
  • Clock in and out using the app or phone.
  • Follow call-off procedures if unable to make a shift.
