About The Position

BrightStar Care is hiring compassionate, dependable Home Health Aides (HHA) for ongoing care positions, providing essential in-home support to clients. This role is designed for caregivers passionate about helping others maintain comfort, dignity, and independence at home while building meaningful connections. Caregivers will assist clients with personal care, safe transferring, ventilator care (training available), PEG feeding, colostomy care, wound care, and other daily support needs, ensuring a safe and comfortable home environment. The current schedule available is a 12-hour Full Night Shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, any day between Monday through Sunday. The company seeks reliable, patient, and committed caregivers dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care, adhering to The Golden Rule of treating every client and colleague with respect and kindness.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Certified CPR and negative TB skin test or chest x-ray
  • Must have a valid driver's license and auto insurance (proof of insurance is required)
  • Must be able to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push, and pull. Varied assistance is required depending on the mobility of the client.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision
  • Ability to adhere to HIPAA and ensure confidentiality and security of the client's medical information
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English and communicate effectively
  • Up-to-date vaccinations including COVID-19, Influenza, and Hepatitis B

Nice To Haves

  • Successful completion of a nursing assistant or certified home health aide program
  • Minimum one (1) year of documented home care assistance and/or direct care experience at an assisted living or skilled nursing facility, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene
  • Support safe mobility and transfers while assisting the client with movement and positioning
  • Assist with ventilator care (training available), PEG feeding, colostomy care, and wound care
  • Offer companionship and emotional support to ensure client comfort, dignity, and well-being
  • Monitor and report any changes in the client's condition to supervisors or case managers
  • Follow the established care plan and maintain clear communication with the care team
  • Provide client-facing care as assigned
  • Provide assistance with daily tasks as directed in the client's personalized plan of care, including but not limited to: feeding, meal preparation, linen changes, light housekeeping, providing transportation to doctor appointments, outdoor activities, and shopping
  • Provide companionship, personal and hygiene care as directed in the client's personalized plan of care, including but not limited to: bathing, grooming, oral care, dressing, undressing, toileting activities, and assisting with measurements, if necessary
  • Assist clients with active and passive mobility work defined by the plan of care, and document observed changes to the Director of Nursing
  • Adhere to the policies, procedures, and protocols of the agency of employment
  • Adhere to HIPAA laws and ensure confidentiality and security of the client's medical information
