About The Position

Home Care Network (HCN) is seeking compassionate and reliable Home Health Aides (HHAs) to provide essential personal care services to clients in Coshocton, Ohio, and surrounding areas. This position offers part-time hours to start, with the potential for full-time employment after the first month. As a Home Health Aide, you will work under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Therapist, delivering direct patient care, assisting with daily living activities, performing household tasks, and monitoring patient conditions to ensure comfort, safety, and independence. Requirements

  • 1+ year of verifiable experience in home care or caregiving setting.
  • Successful completion of HCN's written skills test and/or competency evaluation.
  • Meet/Completion of all training and/or certifications required by the state.
  • CPR and First Aide Certifications (active/current certs preferred but may also be obtained prior to hire date).
  • Ability to perform all main physical tasks on a regular basis, and willingness to do so safely.
  • Willingness and aptitude to perform light housekeeping in addition to patient care services as needed.
  • Strong track record of attendance, dependability, and employment retention with previous employers.
  • Good interpersonal skills and compassion for helping others live their best lives.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, and follow a written Plan of Care, incorporating attention to detail in following instructions, documenting notes, and communicating with our agency.
  • Professional character traits: reliable, honest beyond reproach, punctual, articulate, compassionate, detail-oriented, accountable, friendly and accommodating, respectful, self-driven, problem-solver, compliant, and confidential.
  • At least eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Valid driver's license/ID and reliable transportation to/from client care locations.
  • Consent and ability to pass a State and/or Federal Background Check.

Nice To Haves

  • Active CNA or STNA certification + 1 or more years of paid experience
  • 2 or more years of paid home health experience for HHA or PCA without certification.
  • Active DSP Certification from Ohio DODD + 1 or more years of experience caring for persons with disabilities.
  • Additional Medication Certifications
  • Hoyer lift experience
  • Specific disease-state care experience
  • 3-5 years of paid experience in a home health or caregiving setting.
  • Paid experience with a Home Health Agency.
  • STNA (or 2026 graduation date) highly preferred; CNA or CHHA still encouraged to apply.
  • Specialized certification or training program, such as DODD-DSP, Med Certification, EMR/EHR, etc.
  • EMR/EHR experience and proficiency (ContinuLink highly desirable).

Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct patient care and support, following the established plan of care, to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Measure and record vital signs and other specified metrics as instructed.
  • Assist with personal care tasks and activities of daily living (e.g., bathing, oral hygiene, nail & skin care, shaving, dressing).
  • Perform household tasks essential to health care and living at home (e.g., meal preparation/feeding, laundry, light housekeeping).
  • Assist patients in taking medications under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse (opening containers/pill caddies).
  • Identify and report any abnormal findings or changes in the patient's condition.
  • Help with therapy exercises under the supervision of therapists (e.g., range of motion exercises, ambulation assistance).
