About The Position

The Home Health Aide plays a vital role in providing compassionate and personalized care to patients within their own homes. This position focuses on supporting individuals with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being while promoting independence. The aide will work closely with healthcare professionals and family members to implement care plans tailored to each patient's unique needs. Through attentive observation and communication, the aide helps monitor patients' health status and reports any changes promptly. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to enhancing the quality of life for patients receiving long-term and home care services.

Requirements

  • Completion of a state-approved Home Health Aide training program.
  • Certification as a Home Health Aide (HHA) or equivalent credential as required by state regulations.
  • Ability to pass background checks and health screenings.
  • Basic understanding of patient care and safety procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in home health care or long-term care settings in the past 2 years with a minimum of 1 year experience without CNA certification or STNA
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to maintain hygiene and dignity.
  • Support patients with mobility and physical exercises as directed by healthcare professionals to promote physical health and prevent complications.
  • Monitor patients’ overall condition, documenting observations and reporting any concerns to nursing staff or supervisors.
  • Help with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring patients receive proper nutrition according to their dietary requirements.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe living environment for patients.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to patients, fostering a positive and reassuring atmosphere.
  • Adhere strictly to care plans and safety protocols while respecting patient confidentiality and privacy.
