Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a state-approved Home Health Aide training program.
  • Certification as a Home Health Aide where required by state regulations.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel to client homes.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working as a Home Health Aide or in a related caregiving role.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records and documentation systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity.
  • Additional training in specialized care areas such as dementia or chronic disease management.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with personal care tasks including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
  • Prepare and serve meals according to dietary requirements and assist with feeding if necessary.
  • Provide medication reminders and monitor clients for any changes in health or behavior.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe living environment.
  • Document care provided and communicate regularly with healthcare providers and family members to ensure continuity of care.
