About The Position

Haven Home Care is seeking Home Health Aides to provide in-home care for individuals, primarily older adults, in Summit County, Ohio. This role involves assisting clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, meal preparation, light cleaning, and errands, as well as providing companionship. The work is physical, requiring caregivers to be on their feet and assist clients with mobility. This position does not involve administering medication or performing medical tasks. Haven Home Care emphasizes a "calling" rather than just a job, seeking individuals with empathy and a genuine care for the elderly community. Caregivers typically work with 2-4 regular clients weekly, fostering long-term relationships. The company offers flexible scheduling based on client needs and caregiver availability, with shifts ranging from 2-8 hours. Requirements

Driver's license
Own car with insurance that covers work driving
Pass background checks
Work at least 20 hours/week
Available between 6 AM-8 PM (most work is 8 AM-5 PM)
Legal right to work in the US
Must be at least 18 years old
STNA license (active or expired) OR HHA certificate (30+ hours, signed by RN) OR 1+ year of experience working under an RN or LPN supervisor at one company OR complete free 32-hour online HHA training.
Ability to pass a competency test (written and skills), unless STNA licensed.
Ability to verify identity and work authorization.
Ability to travel to clients' homes.
Reliability and punctuality.
Ability to follow instructions and policies.
Good communication skills.
Empathy and care for the elderly community.

Nice To Haves

Experience as a Home Health Aide.
STNA license.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.
Perform light cleaning and run errands for clients.
Provide companionship to clients.
Help clients with mobility.
Follow agency policies and client care plans.
Report incidents within 24 hours.
Maintain good client feedback.
Avoid actions that cause clients to leave Haven Home Care, such as frequent call-offs or no-call/no-shows.
Answer office calls and texts quickly.
Send updated documents (insurance, license, training) when requested.
Complete feedback forms when sent.
Work fill-in shifts for the first two weeks to gauge reliability.
Care for regular clients weekly.
Pick up fill-in shifts for additional hours if desired.

Benefits

Scheduled raises in the first 2 years: +$0.50/hour at 90 days, +$0.50/hour more at 1 year, +$1.00/hour more at 2 years, totaling up to $2.00/hour more.
