About The Position

We are looking for compassionate and dependable Home Health Aides (HHAs) or Caregivers to provide private duty care for a kind and soft-spoken woman transitioning home from Mary Free Bed to her residence in Kalamazoo. She requires 24/7 support, including personal care, companionship, and help with daily living activities. A licensed nurse will also be on shift, and the aide will work alongside them for additional support. Centria Healthcare is looking to hire caring, professional, and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistants and Home Health Aides to join our team. Requirements

  • CNA, HHA, or equivalent experience in home care preferred.
  • Experience working with fall-risk patients and mobility assistance is highly desirable.
  • Ability to assist with personal care and provide compassionate support.
  • Must be reliable, patient, and attentive to the client’s needs.
  • Comfortable working in a private home.
  • Ability to work independently and follow care plans.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to utilize computers/tablets and computer software
  • Strong patient service skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to carefully follow protocols and rules regarding the patient's care
  • Ability to address minor medical issues
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Valid CPR Certification
  • Background Check
  • Negative TB test results
  • Auto Insurance with your name listed on the policy

Responsibilities

  • Assist with mobility and transfers to prevent falls.
  • Provide basic personal care, including hygiene, toileting, and dressing.
  • Monitor and assist with oxygen therapy as needed.
  • Prepare light snacks or drinks if requested.
  • Offer companionship and reassurance throughout the shift.
  • Assist in positioning and turning to prevent discomfort.
  • Document and report any changes in condition.
  • Respond to any emergencies promptly.
  • Perform duties outlined in patient's plan of care
  • Monitor patient condition by observing physical and mental condition, intake and output, and exercise
  • Observe the client’s physical, mental, and emotional conditions/ document and record changes in the patient condition
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy patient environment
  • Assist with daily living activities, such as dressing or taking a bath
  • Adhere to professional standards, facility care policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements
