About The Position

The Cottage Fergus Falls is seeking to hire a full-time Home Health Aide (HHA) / Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide compassionate long-term care for our elderly assisted living residents. The Home Health Aide is responsible for assisting the licensed nurse in the delivery of resident care. Under the direction of the nurse, the home health aide provides medically oriented task(s) to maintain health or to facilitate treatment of an illness or injury provided in a person's place of residence. As a Home Health Aide (HHA) / Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), you are the heart and soul of our team. Under the direction of a licensed nurse, you get to help our senior/elderly residents stay close to home and live with independence and dignity. You do more than just provide medication reminders or assist with meals, light housekeeping, bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, errands, and appointments. While those tasks are important, you also provide companionship and socialization, as you support them in visiting with friends, attending events, or working on hobbies. You make sure that they are mentally stimulated, physically active, and well-nourished, encouraging independence and promoting family involvement as much as possible. You are meticulous about reporting any changes or concerns promptly. In this way, you provide real peace-of-mind for them and their families. Requirements

  • No experience necessary, paid training provided.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job.
  • Must meet and maintain State requirements of a certified home health aide.
  • Requires level of knowledge normally required in the course of obtaining a high school diploma.
  • Completion of on-site orientation program will be given to obtain desired entry level competency.
  • Work effectively with general supervision, ability to organize and manage own work load in a busy environment.
  • Some independent actions are required.
  • Knowledge of resident care plans, and state home care regulations.
  • Ability to communicate well with residents and families promoting customer service and respect.
  • Must maintain a calm and warm working environment with co-workers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate long-term care for elderly assisted living residents.
  • Assist with meals, light housekeeping, bathing, toileting, grooming, and dressing.
  • Assist with errands and appointments.
  • Provide companionship and socialization.
  • Support residents in visiting with friends, attending events, or working on hobbies.
  • Ensure residents are mentally stimulated, physically active, and well-nourished.
  • Encourage independence and promote family involvement.
  • Report any changes or concerns promptly to the licensed nurse.
  • Assist the licensed nurse in the delivery of resident care.
  • Provide medically oriented tasks to maintain health or facilitate treatment of illness or injury in a person's residence.
  • Visit with residents routinely regarding cares, activities, menus, likes and dislikes.
  • Offer resolution or a visit from the appropriate individual for any dislikes or concerns and communicate with direct supervisor.
  • Ensure any grievance is documented and reported to either the Assisted Living Manager or facility RN.
  • Incorporate customer-oriented approach into daily routine.
  • Maintain resident's confidentiality and respect according to HIPPA and Resident Rights.
  • Report Vulnerable Adult issues to their director supervisor as necessary.
