About The Position

This position involves providing essential care and support to individuals in their private homes. The role requires assisting with personal care, mobility, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and offering companionship. The Home Health Aid will also be responsible for taking basic vital signs if trained and ensuring a safe and comfortable living environment for the client.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
• Current and valid certification or registration as required by the State of Michigan: Michigan CNA certification through an approved state program, or Home Health Aide training and certification per Michigan Home Care Organization guidelines.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross within 90 days of employment.
• Ability to communicate verbally
• Fully functional vision is required (prescription lenses or contacts are acceptable)
• Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, or walking
• Ability to lift or carry up to 50+ pounds occasionally
• Ability to operate a computer and other standard office or clinical tools
• Reliable transportation for occasional travel. The employee will not be responsible for transporting a client

Nice To Haves

• associate’s degree or higher is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Support mobility and transfers, including use of assistive devices
• Help with meal preparation and feeding as needed
• Take and record basic vital signs, such as temperature or blood pressure (if trained)
• Provide companionship and emotional support
• Assist with light housekeeping (laundry, tidying, etc.) to maintain a safe environment
