About The Position
MakeUseOf (MUO), a leading technology publication, is seeking Home Improvement & DIY Tech writers for a remote, contractual role. MUO aims to provide accessible guides and recommendations for a general audience, simplifying complex tech topics. The Home section focuses on the intersection of practical technology, home automation, and DIY hardware, covering areas such as power tools, smart home sensors and protocols, home networking, and display/audio cabling. The content is geared towards the average reader, making it approachable and practical, even for those new to home automation or DIY projects. The publication does not target professional electricians or commercial installers.

Responsibilities
- Write consistently and meet assigned deadlines.
- Pitch ideas and work with editors to refine them.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest tech news, products, and updates.
- Work within a CMS: adhere to style guidelines, finding and formatting images, adding links, etc.
