About The Position

This role involves driving a 3.5-tonne van to deliver groceries to customers' doorsteps, ensuring they arrive on time and in excellent condition. The driver will be responsible for pre-drive checks to ensure the van is organized, clean, and roadworthy, and that delivery cases are secure. Safety is paramount, requiring safe driving in various locations and conditions. The role also includes excellent customer service, answering questions, handling substitutions, and keeping customers informed of any delays. Building product and service knowledge is important for providing recommendations. When not delivering, the driver will assist with in-store tasks as needed.

Requirements

• Proficient driving a large vehicle in different locations, from busy residential streets to narrow country lanes, and delivering to a variety of residential properties.
• Happy working in a fast-paced, physical and high energy environment, using initiative to solve problems - often on your own but also thrive in being part of a team.
• Always ready to work flexibly and productively to a high standard across the store when needed.
• Comfortable in learning to use new digital tools and technology to do your job brilliantly.
• Comfortable moving shopping containers up to 15KG.

Responsibilities

• Driving a 3.5 tonne van to deliver groceries to customers' doorsteps on-time and in great condition.
• Completing checks to ensure the van is organised, clean and roadworthy, and that delivery cases are secure before driving safely in a variety of locations and conditions.
• Serving customers brilliantly, supporting with any questions and substitutions, and keeping them aware of any delays.
• Building great knowledge about products, services and promotions to help provide recommendations.
• Helping across the store as needed when not out making deliveries.
