About The Position

The Home Delivered Meals Driver is responsible for the delivery of noon meals to homebound elderly. The shift is from 10:45 AM until the route is completed, working approximately 2-3 hours per day, Monday through Friday, as scheduled. This position serves an Irvington/North Omaha route.

Requirements

Must be at least 19 years of age.
Must possess a valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s License from the State of residence (Nebraska or Iowa) or become licensed in that state within 30 days of date of hire.
Must have a good driving record (no moving violations within the last twelve (12) months or chargeable accidents within the last two (2) years, as verified through the Department of Motor Vehicles in each state of residence during that time period).
Must not have been convicted of Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) or Driving Under the Influence (DUI) within the last five (5) years.
Must have a car and State required car insurance.
Must be able to lift 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

Report to work as scheduled on a regular and reliable basis.
Successfully complete all required pre-service orientation and training.
Ensure confidentiality of all client information and act in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Understand and comply with various laws, rules, regulations, policies, and guidelines as they pertain to both ENOA and ENHSA.
Be a strong team player with a positive attitude and maintain effective work relationships with ENOA staff, clients, and the general public.
Operate a motor vehicle.
Deliver meals to homebound elderly.
Read city maps and correctly identify addresses of meal program clients.
Assist in meal distribution at food caterer and satellite locations as needed.
Complete time sheets and mileage forms and submit to supervisor on a timely basis.
Notify Home Delivered Meals central office staff when difficulties in delivery of meals occur.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Properly deliver the correct meals to clients by discerning diet code markings.
Maintain a professional attitude at all times, meeting time lines and quality service requirements of the agency.
Drive in the geographic service area in a variety of road conditions.
