Requirements

  • Washington State Home Care Aide (HCA) certification or active HCA training status within the required timeframe.
  • OR current Washington State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in good standing.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willing to obtain.
  • Food Handlers permit, or willing to obtain.
  • Ability to pass background check and meet state licensing requirements.
  • Ability to pass drug testing.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in home care, home health, or senior living.
  • Experience with dementia or chronic conditions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Attends annual safety and infection control education.
  • Uses safety precautions for patients and self, including proper body mechanics and universal precautions.
  • Knows evacuation plans for client homes.
  • Supports the mission, values, and goals of Signature Healthcare at Home.
  • Meets attendance and punctuality standards; maintains professional demeanor.
  • Completes mandatory education requirements annually.
  • Follows agency policies and maintains client confidentiality per HIPAA.
  • Attends agency staff meetings as required.
  • Functions as a team member, promoting communication and support.
  • Meets productivity expectations and manages time effectively.
  • Documents client services accurately and legibly.
  • Works independently, asks appropriate questions, takes initiative, and uses good judgment.
  • Notifies supervisor of delays or absences.
  • Solves problems effectively and reports unsafe home environments.
  • Adheres to agency policies, code of conduct, and ethical standards.
  • Assists clients with activities of daily living (ADL’s), personal hygiene, transfers, toileting, and ambulation.
  • Performs light housekeeping related to client care, laundry, linen changes, and tidying living areas.
  • Assists with meal preparation and feeding, and supports shopping, errands, and appointment reminders.
  • Performs delegated nursing tasks under RN delegation, such as vital signs, medication assistance, blood glucose checks, and selected ostomy, catheter, or wound care.
  • Completes all documentation on the same day services are provided.
  • Follows infection control, universal precautions, and safety protocols.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by the agency according to state regulations.
