What is Carolina SeniorCare? Carolina SeniorCare is a P.A.C.E. (Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly). Homecare Assistant/ Scheduler Under the direction of the Home Care Coordinator RN, the Scheduler maintains staffing schedule for Home Care, including assignment sheets, master schedule, and PAL requests. Obtains information from participants as directed by the Home Care RN or Physician. Participates in Home Care meetings and overall planning related to Home Care. Accepts other duties as assigned by the Home Care Coordinator RN and within the CNA scope of practice.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required. Some college or business school is strongly preferred.
  • Must have medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations before having direct participant contact.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and have means of transportation. Must be able to meet Carolina SeniorCare's auto insurance carrier's standards for coverage.
  • Successful completion of Certified Nursing Assistant program with current certification and required in-services.
  • Minimum age of 18 years or older is required for this position due to Department of Labor Regulations.
  • CPR/First Aid certification required.
  • Minimum of one year working with the frail or elderly.
  • Two (2) years clerical or business experience, preferably in a health care environment is preferred.
  • Experience with a personal computer, various software applications, email, facsimile, and copier. Intermediate to advanced computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Performs general clerical duties, including, but not limited to, maintaining records and office supplies, preparing reports, filing policy manuals, resource material, and statistical data as required.
  • Provides information, makes referrals, and contributes to good customer service by answering the phones, screening, and transferring calls and/or taking messages accurately and courteously.
  • Maintains and records attendance using assignment sheets; assists Home Care Coordinator RN with review of time records for nursing personnel to check for accuracy.
  • Consults each day with the clinical and medical staff on management of participant flow for the day. Assists in prioritizing the scheduling of participants and adjusting delivery of Home Care services as needed.
  • Assists in all Certified Nursing Assistant duties as directed by the Home Care Coordinator.
  • Assumes responsibility for afterhours rescheduling of nursing assistance in Home Care.
  • Performs any necessary filing or clerical duties necessary to complete charting requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
