About The Position
Nurse Next Door San Mateo is seeking Home Care Aides to provide one-on-one in-home support. Aides are considered trusted partners in client well-being, with investment in their growth, listening to their ideas, and providing hands-on clinical support. The role involves personalized daily living assistance, maintaining a healthy home environment, medication and wellness checks, mind-body engagement, and detailed reporting.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited Home Health Aide (HHA) program (or equivalent).
- At least 1 year of paid home-health, hospice, or facility experience.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- CPR certification (or willingness to earn within 30 days).
- A genuine desire to foster trust and dignity for every client you serve.
Responsibilities
- Safely transfer clients, support bathing/grooming, and help with mobility devices.
- Change linens, do light laundry, and keep living areas clean and hazard-free.
- Provide timely medication reminders and record basic vitals or observations.
- Read aloud, reminisce, or guide simple chair-exercises to keep clients alert and active.
- Document care notes and promptly share changes with your RN or Care Supervisor.
