About The Position

Aveanna Healthcare is seeking Home Care Aides to join their team. This role involves providing non-medical personal care, supervision, assistance, and companionship to clients with advanced age, physical disabilities, mental deficiencies, or other health-related conditions. The Home Care Aide will also maintain a safe and clean environment for these clients.

Requirements

Must be able to speak, write, read and understand English.
Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling of 25 pounds.
Prolonged sitting, walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting.
Must be able to sit and climb stairs.
Must have visual and hearing acuity.
Must have strong sense of smell and touch.
Ability to adhere to confidentiality standards and professional boundaries at all times.
Quick-thinking and astute decision-making skills.

Ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual - English and Spanish.
HCA license with at least 2-3 years experience in a facility.
Clean driving record and valid license (for special cases).

Responsibilities

Assistance with clients’ Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including ambulation, transfers, bathing, grooming, hygiene, meal preparation, dressing, and toileting.
Provide oral medication reminders (caregivers are not permitted to administer medication).
Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a safe and clean environment, including laundering client's clothing and linens, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens, and maintaining tidiness of client's living areas.
Provide transportation and escort to appointments, including driving the client and assisting with ambulation/transfers as needed.
Provide supervision and companionship, engaging clients in conversation, taking them on walks, and entertaining them with activities.
Assist with Range of Motion exercises as requested.
Comply with all state laws and agency policies regarding mandated reporting of abuse and domestic violence.
Comply with agency policies related to privacy and confidentiality, including HIPAA laws.
Observe safety guidelines as outlined in the Employee Safety Manual.
Report any unusual occurrences or changes in client's condition to the supervisor immediately.
Arrive promptly and complete all assigned shifts, notifying the supervisor of any requested schedule changes as soon as possible.
