About The Position

The role of a caregiver at Golden Care is to provide high-quality, non-medical care and support services to clients, delivering care with professionalism, empathy, compassion, kindness, and in a respectful manner.

Requirements

  • MUST have at least 3 months of professional experience working as a caregiver
  • MUST be, or willing to register as a California Home Care Aide (HCA)
  • MUST be able to clear a criminal background check by the DOJ/FBI
  • MUST have a current Negative Tuberculosis (TB) test (or willingness to complete one)
  • MUST obtain a valid Driver’s License and a reliable vehicle
  • MUST be 18 years of age or older
  • MUST be able to provide 2 forms of ID such as a Driver's license, social security, Passport, and or Birth certificate
  • MUST be reliable, dependable, and be on-time.
  • MUST dress professionally.
  • MUST be kind, empathetic, compassionate, respectful, have a positive attitude and great work ethics.
  • MUST have a passion and the desire to help others improve their quality of life, while maintaining clients' self-respect, dignity, safety, and confidentiality.
  • MUST be comfortable using a smartphone for basic communication and care documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Parkinson's is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
  • Providing clients with Alzheimer’s/Dementia or related behaviors (i.e., wandering, paranoia) a safe and secure environment by monitoring their health and safety, as it is a priority.
  • Assist clients with all their ADL’s (Activities of Daily Living) in accordance with individualized care plans (i.e., personal hygiene assistance — oral care, grooming, toileting, incontinence care, bathing, dressing, etc.)
  • Light housekeeping, laundry, and organizing to maintain a clean-living environment.
  • Meal preparation and assist with feeding if needed.
  • Transferring & Ambulation — provide safety, stability and support while client is mobile and during transfers.
  • Transportation (i.e., appointments, grocery shopping, errands, outings, etc.)
  • Follow clients’ provided plan of care, safety precautions and procedures.
  • Monitor, observe and report suspected concerns or change of clients' condition or health status to a supervisor or the appropriate parties immediately.
  • Communicate effectively and respond to all forms of communication from the office in a timely manner.
