About The Position

As part of the LIFE's Senior Services PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) team, this role performs a vital service by providing primary care for Tulsa's aging population. The team's job is to provide services and oversight to keep participants in their homes for as long as safely possible, especially those with numerous chronic conditions and minimal past healthcare. Home Care Aides provide personal care assistance as needed, requiring a genuine desire to work with older adults, effective communication and interaction skills, and a caring, friendly attitude. A commitment to the organization's Core Values of being client-centered, showing dignity and respect, and taking responsibility for delivering quality, compassionate health and personal service is expected.

Requirements

Holds and maintains a current Oklahoma Long Term Care Aide certification.
Holds and maintains a current Driver’s license.
Upon hire, will obtain and maintain current certifications in first aid and CPR.
Reliable transportation, cell phone, verifiable car insurance and good driving record is required.
A background check.
A pre-employment drug test.
Motor vehicle record check.
TB screen.

Nice To Haves

Prefer a minimum one year of experience as a CNA.

Responsibilities

Providing companionship through conversation and active listening.
Providing personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (i.e., feeding, transfers and ambulation, showering, toileting, hand washing, grooming, dressing).
Reminding client of medication schedule.
Occasional meal preparation and light housekeeping.
Recording changes in the client’s physical condition, behavior, or appearance.
Documenting services delivered in accordance with policies and procedures.
Possess a caring attitude toward the care of the sick and elderly.
