About The Position

Delivers instructional services to public school students who are unable to attend school due to a medical or emotional condition or are on home assignment. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Proof of a four year degree from an accredited college/university.
Possession of a valid Maryland driver's license.
Knowledge of effective instructional techniques.
Knowledge of instructional materials.
Skill in instructing students.
Skill in communicating with students, teachers, administrators, and others.
Technology competency.
Knowledge of and skill in the use of database, internet, spreadsheet, word processing, and related applications.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to properly maintain confidential information.
Ability to establish and effective working relationships.
Citizenship, residency or work VISA in United States required.

Nice To Haves

Experience working with students Pre-K through grade 12 preferred.

Responsibilities

Provides tutoring services to BCPS students in all core content areas using BCPS curriculum.
Acts as a liaison between the parents, students and Home and Hospital office.
Instructs and supervises students in a variety of settings.
Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment.
Implements lesson plans and instruction using BCPS curriculum.
Maintains academic and attendance records.
Maintains the confidentiality of information pertaining to students, parents/guardians, and staff.
Accurately tracks/reports hours spent on synchronous instruction provided to students.
Conducts oneself in a business-like and professional manner.
