Hollingworth Science Camp Assistant/Associate Teacher
About The Position
The Hollingworth Science Camp at Teachers College, Columbia University, is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Teachers to support Head Teachers in a dynamic summer camp environment. The Assistant Teacher will serve as an integral member of the classroom teaching team, supporting the implementation of curriculum, mentoring students, and fostering a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment for elementary-aged children. This is a short-term summer position from June 20- July 30, 3026. The incumbent will assist the head teacher in all aspects of the science camp ensuring a safe and comfortable learning environment for a group of elementary-aged children for the duration of the camp.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience working with elementary school-aged children
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team and take direction from lead teachers
- Basic classroom management and organizational skills
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Nice To Haves
- Master of Arts degree or enrolled in a Master of Arts program
