About The Position

The candidates should have 5-10 years or more operating experience (forklifts, skid steers, hoists, elevators, mobile cranes, drill rigs under 50K torque) Here are the specs on the hoist that will be operated. 1. Dual Hoist at Tower 1: eight thousand (8,000) pound capacity dual cage rack-and-pinion Counterweighted Personnel and Material Hoist as described below. a. Location: Approximately Column Line R-F on the South Elevation of the building. b. Minimum cage speed: three hundred (300) fpm. c. Minimum interior clear cage size: 18’-0" L x 5' W x 8'-4" H. d. Cage capacity: eight thousand (8,000) lbs. e. Levels serviced by each cage: L1 to L42

Requirements

  • 5-10 years or more operating experience (forklifts, skid steers, hoists, elevators, mobile cranes, drill rigs under 50K torque)
  • Previous experience operating cranes or other heavy equipment
  • Knowledge of crane operation techniques and safety procedures
  • Familiarity with mechanical principles and equipment maintenance
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications
  • Proficient in shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations
  • Experience operating backhoes, boom trucks, forklifts, or other heavy machine
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting abilities
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Good communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members
  • Must be able to work safely around heavy equipment and construction traffic
  • Must be able to frequently lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds alone, and use team-lifting techniques for anything heavier
  • Long periods of continual standing or walking are required, along with the ability to bend, climb, kneel, and reach
  • Good balance and dexterity are crucial, as you will be working safely at various heights and in tight spaces
  • Need visual acuity to operate equipment and spot hazards
  • Ability to hear with or without assistance to understand instructions in noisy environments
  • Required to consistently wear all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Strictly follow Clark Construction's safety policies and procedures, and all applicable laws, at all locations
  • A pre-employment drug “fitness for duty” screening is required

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain cranes and other heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning
  • Lift, move, and position materials or equipment using the crane
  • Follow safety guidelines and protocols to prevent accidents or injuries
  • Communicate with team members to coordinate lifting operations
  • Adhere to project timelines and deadlines
