As a HMI Systems Engineer you may: Design, develop, test, and maintain the software, display screens, and communication networks that allow operators to interact safely and efficiently with complex machinery Combine hardware, software, or mechanical components to ensure all subsystems work together smoothly Monitor system performance, perform upgrades, manage backups, and troubleshoot failures Create intuitive graphical user screens, touch controls, alarm management using Java Connect HMI software with hardware components like PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), sensors, data acquisition units, and electronic control units (ECUs) Configure industrial and vehicle networking protocols Perform test and analysis as required Troubleshoot issues and update software Work collaboratively with suppliers and Applied partners Contribute to projects that impact communities in West Fargo, Moorhead, Dilworth, and Horace and the greater Fargo metro area Apply your skills in a dynamic environment that values ownership and innovation

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering required
  • Experience with Creo required
  • Proficiency in Java programming language and HMI/SCADA software platforms
  • Strong understanding of embedded systems, signals, industrial networking, and UI/UX usability principles
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment
  • Capable of working independently and as a team member
  • Strong work ethic and unwavering integrity
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a learning mindset
  • Curiosity, problem solving, and analytical thinking
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Desire to work on a variety of projects

Responsibilities
