The HIV Prevention Health Educator plans, implements, and evaluates community health programs focused on reducing HIV/STI transmission and promoting testing, PrEP (Pre-exposure Prophylaxis), and supportive care.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in education, social, behavioral, or biological sciences or a directly related field from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of experience in public health education or one (1) year of experience at the lower level Hlth Educator 1 (HCP030) or position equivalent.

Responsibilities

Organizes and assists Linkage Coordinator and Prevention Coordinator with testing and preparation for events.
Collects and analyses data to identify community needs prior to planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluation programs designed to encourage healthy lifestyles, policies, and environment.
Plans and provides educational opportunities for health personnel, and prepares and disseminates educational and informational materials to stakeholders, both internal and external.
In the event of a public health emergency, participates in emergency response activities as directed.
