About The Position
OnSpot Dermatology is hiring a Histotechnologist for its pathology lab in South Downtown Orlando. The role prepares tissue samples for examination by two staff Dermatopathologists. The lab processes 70–100 specimens per day and has a team of two Histotechnologists and a Lab Assistant. The position includes embedding, sectioning, and staining tissue, as well as maintaining laboratory equipment, conducting quality control, and following safety and regulatory requirements. The office is located at 1131 S Orange Ave, Orlando, FL 32806, across the street from Orlando Health's cancer institute.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and process tissue samples for examination by Dermatopathologists.
- Embed, section, and stain tissue samples.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, ensuring instruments function properly.
- Perform quality control measures to maintain high standards in processing and staining procedures.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory safety standards, protocols, and regulatory requirements.
