Histotechnician - On-call
About The Position
Vancouver Clinic is hiring an on-call Histotechnician to join our pathology team. In this role, you will prepare and process tissue specimens, perform embedding, microtomy, and staining procedures including H&E, IHC, and special stains, and support quality control, documentation, equipment maintenance, and lab compliance. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of histology techniques, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with lab leaders, coworkers, and pathologists. Location: Padden Commerce Park (12019 NE 99th Street – Vancouver, WA 98662) Schedule: On call - Monday - Friday, Variable start times between 3am to 7am, will work 8-10/hour shifts. Must be flexible to work an on-call variable schedule. Hiring range generally between $33.88/hour to $42.48/hour, and placement in the range depends on an evaluation of experience.
Requirements
- Certification as a Histotechnician (HT (ASCP)) or Histotechnologist (HTL (ASCP)) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) required
- Maintenance of certification status and relevant CME requirements
- Minimum of one-year experience as a Histology Technician required
- Familiarity with lab safety, infection control, and biohazard disposal
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Nice To Haves
- Minimum associate degree in biological or science field preferred
- Previous experience with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) helpful
