About The Position
The City of Fayetteville is currently recruiting for a Historical Properties Specialist. This role will assist in the development of exhibits and programs, conduct tours of the museum and downtown area, give historical presentations at the museum or outside venues, and assist in the restoration and accessioning of artifacts.
Requirements
- Equivalent to an Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in recreation administration, physical education, business administration, or a related field.
- Possession of an appropriate valid driver’s license and ability to maintain insurability.
- Ability to obtain a CPR certification, AED certification, and First Aid certification within one year of hire.

- Experience in recreation program planning and administration preferred.
Responsibilities
- Conduct tours of the museum, annex and downtown areas.
- Assist in the restoration and cataloging of artifacts.
- Assist in exhibit design and construction.
- Assist with Historic Resource Commission activities.
- Assist with the maintenance and minor repair of museum buildings and assets, including routine cleaning activities.
