About The Position

Under general direction, the incumbent builds and administers county programs for historic preservation, museum operations, artifact and collection management, and coordination with non-profit organizations managing historic county properties. This position works with a high level of independence and autonomy developing and implementing historic and cultural resources programs, coordinating historic property programs with non-profit and other independent entities, and serving necessary functions between the county and independent agencies such as the Comstock Historic District Commission. The position may lead or supervise other employees.

Requirements

• Bachelor's in history, anthropology, museum studies, historic preservation, or closely related field
• 5 years of progressively responsible experience in museum operations, collections management, historic preservation, or related field
• Must possess and maintain a valid Nevada Class C Driver License.
• Ability to pass a criminal background investigation.

Nice To Haves

• Master's in architectural history or Historic Architecture meeting U.S. Secretary of Interior and/or State Historic Preservation Office standards
• Experience providing program leadership, project coordination, lead direction, or supervision of staff
• Military experience applicable to the duties of this position

Responsibilities
