About The Position

As a Histology Technician at IDEXX, you will be a key contributor at one of the largest veterinary diagnostic companies in the world. Histology Technicians at IDEXX perform dissection, grossing, embedding, microtomy, special staining, and complex tissue diagnostics on veterinary samples from dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and all other pets big and small. This is a full-time position with excellent day-one benefits.

Requirements

3 or more years' experience working in a histology lab
Positive attitude and energy to support colleagues
Ability to work in a team
Concentration on details and ability to work reliably and precisely
Great sense of team spirit and responsibility
Able to meet the physical requirements that go with working in a lab – standing and sitting for extended periods of time, phone & computer use, extended reach, lifting up to 50lb, and specific vision ability – close, color, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Potential exposure to biohazards, agents known to cause zoonotic diseases, and hazardous chemicals.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience with complex tissue dissection is a plus.
Associates, Bachelor’s and / or Master’s degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
ASCP licensed HT/HTL is a plus.

Responsibilities

Preparing veterinary tissue samples for diagnosis.
Working on one or several of the following benches depending on knowledge and experience: Dissection, embedding, microtomy, and special staining.
Following SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) while performing day-to-day work.
