Histology Technician - Pathology - Per Diem 8 Hour Day Shift (Union)
About The Position
The Histology Technologist is responsible for processing all tissues and fluids submitted to the Pathology service, preparing/staining tissue slides and assuring they are available in a timely manner for Pathologist review and interpretation. Requirements
- One year experience in an Acute Care Facility setting
- 3 years clinical training in an approved Histology Training Program
- Prior experience to include: specialized stains, cutting, embedding, computer experience, quality control, QC evaluation, inventory control, preventative maintenance and quality improvement
- Valid Histology ASCP Certification preferred, but not required
- An AA or AS degree in a related field preferred, but not required
Responsibilities
- Processing all tissues and fluids submitted to the Pathology service
- Preparing/staining tissue slides
- Assuring tissue slides are available in a timely manner for Pathologist review and interpretation
Benefits
- The hourly rate range for this position is $41.69.
