About The Position

Lakewood Ranch Medical Center is hosting a Hiring Event on Tuesday, October 6th, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM for experienced RNs, and from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM for CNAs and Radiology/Cath Lab/Surgical Techs. The event is seeking qualified candidates for multiple departments including Medical Cardiac, Ortho, Float Pool, Labor and Delivery, Surgery, ICU, PCU, ER, Radiology, and Cath Lab. Light refreshments and snacks will be provided. Candidates are encouraged to apply in advance with an updated resume to expedite the process and should bring copies of their resume to the event. Interviews will last 10 to 15 minutes, and business casual or professional attire is recommended. Walk-ins are welcome, but registered attendees will receive priority.

Requirements

Minimum 1 year of experience required for Registered Nurses.
Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
One year full-time or three years part- time experience in acute care setting required.
Current active Florida or Compact Nursing License.
Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS at start date.
Basic computer skills.
All Nursing Units/Depts (except Newborn Nursery) – ACLS (Within 90 days of start date or completion of orientation, whichever comes first)
Women’s Center (OB/GYN, Newborn Nursery) - NRP (Within 90 days of start date or completion of orientation, whichever comes first)
ICU/PCU – NIH (New graduate RN’s within 90 days of start date or prior to completion of orientation, whichever comes first)
ER-NIH, PALS and Crisis Intervention/De-escalation training within 90 days or prior to completion of orientation, whichever comes first
FED – NIH, PALS and Crisis Intervention/De-escalation training within 90 days or prior to completion of orientation, whichever comes first. TNCC and NRP upon hire or within 6 months of hire
PACU – PALS (within 90 days of start date or completion of orientation whichever comes first)
Demonstrates effective communication and interpersonal skills/customer service skills required at all times.
Cath Lab – Minimum of 2 years of recent critical care experience in one of the following: ICU, CCU/CVICU, Emergency Department, Cath Lab (if experienced)
High school education or equivalent for CNAs.
Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS at start date for CNAs.
CNA Certification required.
For Emergency Room, CPI required within 6 months for CNAs.
Demonstrated track record for excellent communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer skills, and customer service skills required for CNAs.
High school graduate or GED equivalent for Surgical Technologists.
Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS at start date for Surgical Technologists.
Surgical Technologist Certification required.
Satisfactory completion of formal training in an AMA approved school with at least 2 years of experience required for Multi Modality Techs.
Current and active Florida State Licensure as listed below for Multi Modality Techs.
Radiology - CRT & ARRT (R) required.
Interventional (IR) - CRT, ARRT (R) required.
Cat Scan (CT) - CRT, ARRT (R) required.
Nuclear (NM) - CRT & NMTCB required.
MRI - CRT & ARRT (R) required.
Ultrasound - ARDMS (RVT) required.
Cath Lab - CRT & ARRT (R) or equivalent required
Electrophysiology EP - ARRT (R) preferred
Previous experience as Unit Secretary/ Nursing Assistant, Medic or EMT/Paramedic, preferred for CNAs.
1-year surgical technologist preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience preferred for Multi Modality Techs.
Advanced Imaging Experience (CT, MRI, CI, VIR) Preferred for Multi Modality Techs.
Radiology - ARRT (R)(CT) preferred.

Responsibilities

Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates individualized patient care plans while providing exceptional, patient-centered nursing care.
Collaborates with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, patients, and families to coordinate treatment, education, discharge planning, and care transitions.
Monitors patient conditions, administers treatments and medications, and utilizes critical thinking to ensure timely interventions and positive outcomes.
Maintains accurate documentation in the electronic health record while leveraging technology and evidence-based practices to support quality care and patient safety.
Advocates for patients and families by promoting communication, teamwork, education, and a safe, healing environment throughout the care journey.
Provides comprehensive patient care support, including personal hygiene, mobility assistance, nutrition, elimination needs, comfort measures, and age-appropriate care while maintaining patient dignity and safety under direction of the RN.
Accurately documents patient information, vital signs, treatments, intake/output, and medical records while utilizing electronic medical record systems and maintaining HIPAA compliance.
Communicates effectively with nurses, providers, patients, families, and ancillary departments to coordinate care, report changes in condition, and support efficient unit operations.
Maintains a safe and organized care environment by implementing fall and infection prevention measures, managing equipment and supplies, assisting with patient transport, and ensuring adherence to hospital policies and procedures.
Demonstrates strong organizational, technical, and clinical skills by prioritizing tasks, supporting admissions and discharges, performing approved clinical competencies, and contributing to patient flow and team-based care.
Prepares operating rooms, instruments, equipment, and supplies to ensure readiness for surgical procedures.
Maintains strict sterile technique and aseptic practices throughout all phases of surgery.
Anticipates surgeon needs and provides intraoperative support, including instrument handling, tissue exposure, and surgical site visualization.
Performs and documents accurate sponge, needle, and instrument counts to promote patient safety.
Assists with patient positioning, specimen management, OR safety protocals, and post-procedure room turnover.
Performs diagnostic imaging procedures independently across multiple modalities/specialties, ensuring high-quality images, patient safety, and radiation protection.
Supports radiologists during procedures, manages documentation, completes quality control activities, and maintains compliance with accreditation and regulatory requirements.
Performs patient assessments and delivers age-appropriate care for patients from infancy through geriatrics, including safe administration of contrast and medications within scope of practice.
Maintains accurate medical records, completes required forms and incident reports, and ensures proper exam scheduling, charging, and PACS documentation.
Demonstrates leadership, professionalism, technical expertise, and regulatory compliance while supporting departmental operations, continuing education, and on-call coverage.
