About The Position
Alliance Health Center is a 154-bed acute care psychiatric and chemical dependency hospital located in Meridian, Mississippi. The facility offers treatment programs for adults and adolescents, with a specialized program track for seniors. The campus also includes The Crossings, a 60-bed residential treatment facility for adolescents. For over 40 years, Alliance has been dedicated to serving individuals with acute mental and behavioral health disorders and addiction issues across Mississippi and Alabama. Programs are tailored to patient diagnosis and age, ranging from adolescents to seniors. Detoxification, dual diagnosis, and New Leaf Recovery programs are available for individuals 18 and up, offering a full spectrum of addiction services. The hospital also provides dual diagnosis programming for those with co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse. Alliance Health Center is seeking a PRN (as needed) Medical Records Tech. This is not a remote position. Under the direction of the HIM director, this employee will be responsible for performing discharge analysis, identifying deficiencies, handling release of information, and performing general medical record functions. The role requires performing all duties within the department to ensure the success of the HIM team and adherence to hospital policies.
Requirements
- Minimum of one years’ experience in medical records preferred
- Strong organizational and computer skills a must
- Ability to work in a confidential manner and observe all rules of HIPAA
- Must enjoy working with the public and possess excellent communication skills
Nice To Haves
- Degree in Medical Records Coding, Medical Records Technology/Assistant or related field or equivalent experience, preferred.
