About The Position

North Texas Rehabilitation Institute is seeking a professional with a passion for coding, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills to join their hospital’s leadership team. The HIM Manager/Coder will work closely with the CEO and Clinical Directors, and will enjoy working both independently and collaboratively with a team of clinical professionals. This role is crucial for driving improvements in reimbursement and the revenue cycle through expertise in coding and classification systems.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of inpatient or outpatient coding experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10 coding guidelines
• CPC, CCS, CIC, RHIT, or RHIA certification via AHIMA or AAPC

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise in the areas of coding and classification systems to healthcare providers throughout our hospital, and help drive improvements of reimbursement, and the revenue cycle.
• Responsible for timely coding charts in accordance with the current principles of ICD-10 and AHA coding guidelines.
• Supports the Health Information Services Department through a variety of clerical, technical, and related support services.
• Performs other daily duties within the Health Information Management Services department as assigned.
• Supervises and evaluates the performance of HIM department personnel.
