About The Position

Adventist HealthCare seeks to hire an HIM Correspondence Secretary who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing. As an HIM Correspondence Secretary, you will process approved disclosure requests including both electronic and manual medical record systems. You will date stamp all requests processed for accuracy and tracking metrics. You will provide excellent customer service by being attentive and respectful, ensuring understanding of customers’ requests and being proactive in identifying customers’ concerns/problems. You will process incoming ROI requests including mail, walk-ins, telephone, and facsimile to fulfill in a variety of mediums such as portals, secure email, electronic or manual fax, and CD ROM. You will ensure that only the record components authorized in the approved request for the release of medical information are reproduced and disclosed in accordance with policies and procedures regarding disclosure of PHI. Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in HIM, preferred
  • 2 years of experience in a HIM department, preferred
  • RHIT, preferred
