About The Position

Franklin General Hospital Business Office has a rare opportunity available! We are seeking a detail-oriented Health Information Management (HIM) Coder to join our team. This part-time position offers the opportunity to work in a friendly, upbeat environment while enjoying a schedule free from evenings, weekends, and holidays. The HIM Coder is responsible for reviewing medical record documentation and assigning appropriate ICD-10 and CPT codes to ensure accurate coding, billing, and compliance with healthcare regulations.

Requirements

Strong computer skills and proficiency with electronic systems
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow professionally

Nice To Haves

HIM coding certification preferred
Healthcare experience preferred

Responsibilities

Review medical records for completeness and accuracy
Assign appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and other applicable codes based on documentation
Ensure coding compliance with regulatory and organizational standards
Compile and analyze medical record documentation for accurate code selection
Work collaboratively with providers and staff to clarify documentation when needed
Maintain confidentiality and security of patient information
Support revenue cycle and health information management processes
Participate in ongoing education and professional development
