About The Position
Burnett Medical Center is currently seeking a full-time HIM Analyst/Coder for our HIM department. This is an in-house position. The role involves coding discharged patient records for the purpose of maintaining indices, reimbursement, research, and compliance with State and Federal regulations using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and other classification systems. The analyst/coder will also analyze and review records for completeness.
Requirements
- Minimum two (2) years coding experience
- Completed training in ICD-10-CM and PCS, and CPT-4/HCPCS coding.
- CCS or CPC or RHIT certification required.
- Must demonstrate ability to work with physicians, hospital business office and medical center personnel in a highly professional manner.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with electronic medical records, abstraction, and an encoder preferred.
- Epic experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Codes discharged patient records for the purpose of maintenance of indices, reimbursement, research and compliance with State and Federal regulations according to diagnosis, operations and procedures using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and other classification systems.
