About The Position
Burnett Medical Center is currently seeking a full-time HIM Analyst/Coder for our HIM department. This is an in-house position. The primary responsibility is to code discharged patient records for the purpose of maintaining indices, reimbursement, research, and compliance with State and Federal regulations using ICD-9-CM, CPT, and other classification systems. The role also involves analyzing and reviewing records for completeness.
Requirements
- Minimum two (2) years coding experience in ICD-9-CM
- Completed training in ICD-10-CM and PCS, and CPT-4/HCPCS coding.
- CCS or CPC or RHIT certification required.
- Must demonstrate ability to work with physicians, hospital business office and medical center personnel in a highly professional manner.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with electronic medical records, abstraction, and an encoder preferred.
- Epic experience preferred.
Responsibilities
