About The Position

An Operations Technician, which includes the Material Handler role, is part of a pay-for-skills program, offering opportunities to build skills in areas like Assembly, Machine Operation, or Material Handling, and increase compensation. Individuals with Material Handling skills are responsible for receiving, storing, and pulling raw and finished goods through the facility in a safe, accurate, and timely manner, ensuring proper part tracking.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or its equivalent (GED for example) OR work experience which demonstrates performance competency
  • Ability to operate equipment (standup/ sit-down/ swing reach forklift, aerial lift) in a safe and timely manner
  • Competent in basic math skills such as counting, adding, and subtracting
  • Ability to work cooperatively within the team as well as with members of other teams to meet goals
  • Demonstrated willingness to adapt to a continually changing environment
  • Required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms for the duration of the shift
  • Ability to regularly lift and move up to 10lbs, frequently lift and move up to 25lbs, and occasionally lift and move up to 40 lbs
  • Required to communicate and to be able to see with or without correction
  • Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position with or without accommodations
  • All employees in safety-sensitive positions, including Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) operators, are subject to additional pre-employment and ongoing drug and alcohol testing throughout their employment

Responsibilities

  • Receive, store, and pull raw and finished goods through the facility in a safe, accurate and timely manner, along with the proper part tracking
  • Maintain a valid forklift license and follow MIOSHA standards as a professional Material Handler
  • Follow standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible
  • Learn additional functions through cross-training in other departments
  • Communicate effectively
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance based on scheduled hours
  • Work overtime as needed
  • Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives
