About The Position

Penske Truck Leasing is seeking motivated applicants for the role of Hiker (Vehicle Transporter/Truck Driver). This position is responsible for delivering and returning vehicles to Penske locations and customers. The primary focus is on moving box trucks up to 26', and for CDL Class A drivers, this includes tractors and trailer movement. The role may also involve assisting the service department with parts and equipment delivery. This is a casual/on-call part-time position ideal for CDL Class B or CDL Class A drivers looking for supplemental income, with flexible hours ranging from 0 to 25 per week, depending on business needs. The pay rate is $17/hour for Class A and $16/hour for Class B.

Requirements

Valid CDL Class A or CDL Class B license
Ability to drive box trucks up to 26'
Ability to drive tractors and trailers (for Class A)

Responsibilities

Follow appropriate safety procedures while driving trucks to destination of Penske location or customer locations
Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order, report to location manager if any issues are found
Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required
Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles
Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
