About The Position

Penske Truck Leasing is seeking motivated and qualified applicants for the unique position of Hiker (Vehicle Transporter/Truck Driver). This role is responsible for delivering and returning vehicles to Penske locations and customers. The primary focus will be on moving box trucks up to 26 feet, and for CDL Class A drivers, this will include tractors and trailer movement. The position may also involve assisting the service department with parts and equipment delivery. This is a casual/on-call part-time truck driving job, ideal for CDL Class B or CDL Class A licensed drivers looking for supplemental income, with work hours ranging from 0 to 25 per week based on business needs.

Requirements

• Must possess a valid CDL Class A or CDL Class B license.
• Ability to operate box trucks up to 26 feet.
• For CDL Class A, ability to operate tractors and trailers.
• Willingness to work on-call and part-time, with hours varying from 0 to 25 per week.
• Ability to follow safety procedures.
• Ability to check vehicle condition and report issues.
• Ability to obtain receipts/signatures and collect payment when required.
• Ability to report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage.

Responsibilities

• Follow appropriate safety procedures while driving trucks to destination of Penske location or customer locations
• Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order, report to location manager if any issues are found
• Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles
• Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
