Truck Driver - Hiker/Vehicle Transporter/CDL - Part Time
About The Position
Penske Truck Leasing in Lacey is seeking motivated and qualified applicants for the unique position of Hiker (Vehicle Transporter/Truck Driver). This role involves delivering and returning vehicles to Penske locations and customers. The primary focus will be on moving box trucks up to 26 feet. For CDL Class A drivers, this will also include tractor and trailer movement. The position may also support the service department by delivering parts and equipment. This is a casual/on-call part-time truck driving job ideal for CDL Class B or CDL Class A licensed drivers seeking supplemental income, with work hours ranging from 0 to 25 per week based on business needs.
Requirements
- Valid CDL Class B or CDL Class A license
- Ability to drive trucks up to 26 feet
- Ability to drive tractors and trailers (for CDL Class A)
Responsibilities
- Follow appropriate safety procedures while driving trucks to destination of Penske location or customer locations
- Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order, report to location manager if any issues are found
- Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles
- Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
