The Maintenance Supervisor assists in planning, organizing, coordinating, and directing the daily operations of multiple crews responsible for the maintenance, repair, and improvement of Harford County roads, bridges, and related infrastructure. This position oversees field operations to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable regulations, while maintaining County roadways in a safe and serviceable condition for the traveling public. The Maintenance Supervisor also provides leadership to assigned staff through training, coaching, performance management, and the effective allocation of personnel, equipment, and resources. The normal work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. As a critical employee, the Maintenance Supervisor must be available to respond to emergencies on a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year basis and will participate in an on-call rotation to support emergency response operations, including severe weather events and other public safety incidents. This position is designated as essential personnel. Employees in this role are required to report to work during emergencies and adverse weather conditions, including when Harford County Government declares delayed openings or office closures.
