About The Position

JMT is seeking a Highways intern for their Richmond, VA to support with a variety of tasks, including special project assignments active participation in project design & documentation, gain practical experience and support their educational development. Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g. H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification. The hourly rate associated with this position is $22.00 - $27.00, which is based on education level.

Requirements

• Support with a variety of tasks, including special project assignments active participation in project design & documentation
• Gain practical experience and support their educational development

Responsibilities

• Assist senior or lead (architects, engineers, interior designers, project managers) with basic design tasks, including research, simple studies, and layout support
• Help prepare drawings and documents for programming, schematic design, modeling, graphics, design development, and construction phases
• Support the creation of presentation and marketing materials
• Assist with construction phase activities, including participating in site visits, supporting RFI responses, reviewing shop drawings, and helping update record drawings
• Follow established quality control procedures and ask questions as needed
• Learn and apply department and company standards and best practices
• Develop basic design, analysis, and technical skills through hands-on experience
• Participate in team meetings and collaborate with team members
• Receive guidance and direction from supervisors and team leaders
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, interior designers, and other multidisciplinary team members
• Perform other related duties as assigned
