About The Position

This is a full-time, regular position performing highway maintenance and construction work. Duties may include plowing snow; spreading salt and sand; grading shoulders; cleaning culverts; patching roads; cutting brush; painting and maintaining guard rails; installing and removing snow fence; hauling gravel, sand, blacktop, and other materials; performing general labor on construction projects; and making minor equipment repairs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Truck driving certificate and/or three to five years of related experience.
• Valid Wisconsin driver's license with a CDL and proper endorsements.
• Adequate insurance as required by County Policy.

Responsibilities

• Haul gravel, blacktop, fill, culverts, and other highway materials.
• Maintain bridges.
• Perform continued litter pickup.
• Cut brush along road rights of way.
• Perform flagging and signing duties and emergency sign repair.
• Assist mechanics, machinery maintenance workers, and miscellaneous equipment and maintenance operators with repairs.
• Perform other related highway maintenance and construction work as required.
• Perform work such as snow plowing, spreading salt and sand, grading shoulders, cleaning culverts, patching roads, maintaining guard rails, and installing or removing snow fence.
