By joining our Bullitt County Unit as a Highway Technician Superintendent I, in Bullitt County you’ll have the opportunity to supervise employees in repair of road and highway maintenance, oversee maintenance projects, and inspect work for completion. Summary of Responsibilities: Supervise and assist employees in maintenance and repair of roads, bridges, and landslide repairs Provide technical assistance and oversight on highway maintenance projects and inspect work for completion Respond to and supervise snow and ice removal and other emergencies. Reviews roadway conditions, determines repair needs and methods, and prioritizes projects for completion. Requirements

  • High school graduate.
  • Must have ten years of construction or highway maintenance experience.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a Class A commercial driver's license with tanker endorsement to qualify for employment in this job classification.
  • The employee must successfully complete the KYTC Highway Technician Academy Leadership Level 1 or equivalent within one year of employment in this job classification.
  • Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification.
  • Employing agency is responsible for ensuring employee possesses and maintains required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials.
