About The Position

As a Highway Technician 1, you will be a member of a team dedicated to serving the public and contributing to making Ohio's roads safer. This role involves performing a variety of highway maintenance activities and participating in snow and ice operations to ensure safe travel during winter conditions. Your duties may extend beyond the listed examples.

Requirements

• Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & decimals, percentages & fractions
• Ability to read, write & speak common English vocabulary
• 3 months training or 3 months experience in operation of basic equipment
• Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction

Responsibilities

• Serve the public and contribute to making Ohio's roads safer
• Perform a variety of highway maintenance activities, such as flagging, pothole patching, repairing guardrails, litter pickup, and mowing
• Participate in snow and ice operations to ensure safe travel during winter conditions
