About The Position

Parsons' Massachusetts Civil Infrastructure team is a leader in transportation project planning and design in the New England region. We are seeking a Highway Project Manager to lead and manage the engineering and design of road and highway projects, including both conventional and design-build projects. This role involves overseeing technical deliverables, meeting project schedules, ensuring high-quality engineering, identifying new business opportunities, and participating in the proposal process. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of roadway challenges, enjoy client interaction, and possess a competitive spirit to lead a successful team.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree in Project Management or Civil Engineering related technical/business field.
  • At least 15+ years of design and project management delivery experience on heavy transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Experience meeting operations business goals, client management, win strategies, and bid preparation.
  • Proven track record of successful delivery for road/highway projects according to MassDOT standards – conventional and design/build project execution.
  • Experience working in the Massachusetts transportation markets.
  • MA PE is required.
  • Incumbent must meet Parsons' project management certification requirements.
  • Proven ability to perform in a management capacity.
  • Excellent written and oral communications.
  • Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations.
  • Knowledgeable of current technology and how it can be effectively utilized on the project.

Nice To Haves

  • Design-Build Project Experience is not a requirement but is a major plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the overall engineering and design on both conventional and design-build projects for roads and highways.
  • Oversee the civil design team’s technical deliverables and meet project schedules from design through construction.
  • Ensure the highest quality of engineering to meet all design criteria requirements.
  • Identify new business opportunities and participate in the proposal process.
  • Stay technically hands-on throughout the life of the project.
  • Identify new opportunities with current contacts in the region and help grow the business.
  • Lead a first-place team in a competitive environment.
